Cat Teeth Cleaning- Is It Really Necessary for Your Cat

Cat Teeth Cleaning: Is It Really Necessary for Your Cat?

Cats are generally clean creatures so there are common misconceptions about their hygiene requirements. One such dangerous misconception is that cats don’t need any type of dental care.
Like dogs, cats too can develop severe health issues like gum diseases, abscesses, gingivitis and other problems related to heart, kidney, and liver if their dental hygiene is not looked after.

Hence, maintaining your cat’s oral hygiene can help eliminate any future complications sparing your cat tons of pain and expensive trips to the vet later on.

Bacteria and plaque start growing on your cat’s teeth after each meal. That’s why it’s recommended to brush their teeth at least once a week. Even though it might be a tedious task at first, your cat will eventually get used to it and it will greatly benefit them in the long run.

If you’re unsure of what products to use to brush their teeth, it’s always best to consult a veterinarian to find out what’s best for them according to their needs.

Cats are very adept at hiding pain. You might think that your cat is perfectly fine but they might be in pain every time they chew their food. That’s why it’s important to take them to a vet to check for potential problems. Most veterinarians recommend an annual dental check up for pets.
