Community Outreach
Empowering the community to care for animals
Since 2017, we have been partnering with communities across Mumbai to train people how to identify signs of sickness and injury, administer basic first aid, and become champions for street animals. We also provide them with regular supplies of food for dogs and cats every month.
Timely interventions save lives
We educate communities on recognizing when to bring in animals for treatment so that minor issues can be addressed early on. The objective is to get animals treated before the sickness or injury progresses to a more serious stage. This reduces undue suffering and frees up space in our hospitals for more serious cases that require full-time veterinary care.
We also routinely carry out sterilization and vaccination drives to ensure that neighbourhoods aren’t overwhelmed with a stray animal population, contributing to avoidable person-animal conflict.
Animal welfare education
We partner with educational institutions to sensitize children about animal welfare. We teach them about how to save injured strays, while creating awareness about animal cruelty and how to be a kind and compassionate pet owner.
